Saturday night at the Art Space was the place to be, Grayland, At The Stars, Glass Palace,
Obit, and Living in photographs were all part of the talented line up.   Richard LaJaunie of
Living In Photographs kicked things off with dramatic dark ambient tunes, the songs were well
done and were of the same caliber as KLF's Chill out album - good stuff!
At The Stars played out for the first time live, the band was formerly known as Celebrated
Summer.  Jon Burkhart is the lead singer for At The Stars and says the band is excited to be
back together and can't wait to share their new material.
The band Obit rocked out with their energetic performance, these guys are on fire.
Glass Palace gave a top notch performance, this two man band has has a wealth of talent.
Ross and Jason give genuine performances from their soul and their indie-pop sounds will
have you tappin your toe and humming their songs.  Glass Palace is one of those bands that
sounds great live and play songs that all ages can enjoy.
Grayland closed the show with their indie - alterative tunes.  Grayland has a good stage
presence to go with some really good tunes.  Melissa sings vocals and  plays bass/ guitars,
she really stands out as her vocals compliment Jason's vocals well.  Richard LaJaunie did a
great job with synths and keys, he has great sound and style.   If you like The Cure or
Depeche Mode, you will love Grayland.

Friday night was a good time at Short Pump Mall for the Friday Summer concert series when
Hotcakes entertained the masses.  Hotcakes is an impressive  band from Virginia Beach, who
had the kids dancing and adults tapping their feet to a variety of songs from Holla back Girl by
Gwen Stefani to Love Train- by the O'Jays.  This was a great show for the whole family, click
here for pictures from the Hotcakes performance.

The Art's Love Fest Kicked off with the great Pam McCarthy, who sang a wide variety of tunes.
Other performers who took the stage were Chris Adams, Bluegrass Band, Rogan Brothers,
and the show ended with an electric performance by Phatback.  The event was held at
Chadwick and Son Orchids in Powhatan.  The setting for this festival was very nice, you could
listen to music while visiting the greenhouse and look at the stunning orchids.

Great show - R Pops at Rocks:  You guys are girls drew in the crowd with great tunes like
Double Dash, and Millions.  Erin and Megan's  vocals were  fantastic.
David Shultz also performed with a warm and humble approach in his bare feet.  David and his
band were a crowd pleaser with many accoustic folk rock originals .
The Gaskets, The Cheap Seats, Conshafter, Red Anthem and Jason and the Vacations were
also part of the great line up.
