The 2007 St. Patrick's Annual Irish
Festival was jammed pack with
Richmonders in search of a good time.
The Irish Festival is held in the Church
Hill area and is one of the most
anticipated events in the spring.   This
year there was a second stage added
and there was many great musicians who
took the stage.

music line up.

The weather was great and when
Richmond's own Schnitzel was asked
about sharing a favorite moment, he said
"The one thing I'll take with me is this guy
there-I'll never forget him-stopped me
and asked me why with so many
fair-skinned British Isle people on such a
hot day would there not be one vendor
selling sunscreen? And I think he wanted
me to ask that. Cause that's what artists
do. We asks things. Things like that."

Chelsea Kerwath of the band OminOtagO
said "We had fun! The stage was friggin'
awesome and the weather was
PERFECT!!!"

Jamie Wood from The Atkinsons
commented on the event saying
"The Irish Festival on Church Hill is one
of the best festivals held in Richmond
and the organizers are particularly kind to
the musicians.  It's always a huge honor
and pleasure for The Atkinsons to be a
part of it each year.  This year, we
played to the largest audience ever, and
we want to thanks Stokes for having us
and Page for always running such a
"tight ship" for the bands.  The setup and
teardown is always a breeze and the
sound guys are always top-notch.  Plus
we couldn't have asked for better
weather!  So all in all, it was just an
awesome time!"

Bill Francavilla of The Ex-Patriots said
"We always have a blast playing the
festival, it's a great event and
the crowd is terrific. We look forward to
the festival next year. This was our fifth
Irish festival, and with the weather and
the crowd this was definitely the best one
yet!"
Whether you were there to grab a cup of
Irish coffee, beer, the good food, watch
the dancers, marching band, juggler, or
listen to your favorite local musician,
there was plenty of entertainment for the
whole family.
