| Final Thoughts: I lost 15 lbs. total and can now fit in a size 36 pants. I could have lost more weight if I was able to stick to running/exercising every week. The best part of the experience for me was that I learned some self contol with portion sizes. I was eating for two or three people before the challenge. Here is the formula for making changes to your diet: 1. write down what you are eating for two whole weeks, this really tells you where you are at. You will be shocked by how much you may be over eating. 2. Get out the measuring cups and measure out how much food you are consuming. I was eating 3-4 servings of breakfast cereal. 3. Cut out the soda...this will cause you to drop weight weather you exercise or not**. 4. It's baby steps.. Don't flip the switch and do a 180 over night, you have to win some battles before you are ready for war. The first week, I cut out soda and fast food. I went through a phase of drinking diet soda until I started drinking water 90% of the time. Second and third week, I measured my food and only had 1 portion size at breakfast and lunch. At dinner time, I allowed myself to have some extra vegetables. 5. Fall and rise...If you fall and mess up your diet goals, dust yourself off and go back to the plan. There are so many healthy foods to choose from and there really is an alternative to fast food for people on the go.. get a cooler and pack a lunch.. Relace the burger and fries with a chicken salad. |
